What is the difference between Freshadama and Metallics?

Freshadama pearl jewelry is created from loose-grade freshwater pearls. What this means is that the pearls were deemed “too good to drill” by the producer and are sold loose and undrilled. These are typically purchased as singles or pairs to be used in fine jewelry. We purchase this grade in lots and have the pearls drilled for strands. The resulting pieces are the finest freshwater pearl pieces in the world

Metallic pearls may or may not be freshadama grade as metallic refers solely to the natural luster, which has a mirror-like ball-bearing effect. Metallic freshwater pearls are very rare.
